As a Council member, I will work to implement the General Plan. Please check it out and see all the good stuff in there.

Here are some items I want to see happen while I'm on the council:

Community Involvement

  • Increase resident awareness and input into decisions
    • Enroll 70% of residents in White City communications via email
    • Improve the White City website

Clean, Safe, Attractive neighborhoods

  • Improved walking and biking spaces for safety and ease of use
    • Repair sidewalks
    • Add more sidewalks
    • Activity zones along our trails
    • Complete the canal trail
  • Improve street lighting with low energy, dimming lights
  • Clean, attractive entrances into Dimple Dell Park
    • Connector path between the Dimple Dell and Canal Trails
  • Active code enforcement
  • Incentives to reduce lawns and save water
  • Infrastructure for equine properties
  • Weed abatement in public spaces
  • All new Sego Lily Drive from 7th to 13th East
  • Increased police presence with Unified Police reorganization required by the state

Key Points to Consider

When it comes to making decisions for a community, there isn't a one-size fits all approach. Here are some facts about White City residents.

15.7% of residents have a disability

We need to make decisions that work for all walks of life. When we are updating curbs and paving, we need to consider the impact on those who are walking or in a wheelchair. Intersections and paths need adequate lighting. Infrastructure is maintained to minimize disruption to electricity, water, and sewer.

35% of households have children in the home

What are our children doing during the day? Where can they go when not in school? Can they safely get there walking or on a bike? As these children age, will that bring more cars into the neighborhood? These are just a few questions that need to be considered when making decisions on the council.

47% of residents have lived here for more than 20 years!

How can we help our residents "age in place" and not be forced out of their home and neighborhood? What can we do to keep the current appeal of White City while meeting the needs of the next generation?

I want your feedback and help in making these decisions as a community.
