My Experience
Community Volunteering
I served as Chair of the White City General Plan Steering Committee. This consisted of White City residents that worked together to write the General Plan. On this committee, we partnered with experts from the County and the White City Council to draft a comprehensive plan that I believe works for the current and future desires of our residents. The General Plan is the blueprint of White City that the Council is to follow.
I also served on the Walk White City steering committee which was organized by White City Council to determine how we can implement the walkability needs for our residents. We produced this Walk White City study. Walking and biking are important in our community.
As a member of the Community & Economic Development Advisory Council (CEDAC), I shared responsibility for reviewing applications from public and private entities within Salt Lake County for millions of dollars in grants. Some of these grants included sidewalk projects for municipalities, repairs to low-income housing, home repairs, and community shelters. I enjoy being able to evaluate each project using comparative analysis to determine the best use of the grant funds. This skill is important in determining how to use tax funds for White City. These grant funds are also available to White City and no one has taken advantage of that. I want to find more public funding for White City. You can check out more about these programs on the Salt Lake County website.
